In lieu of our annual, in-person conference, N.C. Cooperative Extension – Forsyth and Chatham County Centers are hosting a series of free, online webinars by NC State Extension faculty and staff, as well as industry experts. The webinars provide continuing education and re-certification credits for green industry professionals, including landscapers, grounds and turf managers, and greenhouse and nursery producers. Home gardeners and those that are involved in the management of HOA areas are also welcome to participate.

The Ins and Outs of Smart Irrigation Systems

Learn about the advantages and considerations of smart irrigation systems, which can adjust irrigation output according to weather, moisture, and other conditions. We’ll cover the basic requirements for smart irrigation systems (the need for WiFi signal, locating controllers, understanding modules and faceplates, etc), how to make predictable weather adjustments for optimum irrigation parameters, features of different smart irrigation vendors and brands, the costs and fees associated with these systems, and how to market the systems to clients.
