New "Easy Edibles" Tag in the Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox

Many thanks to Scott Zona and the Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox team for adding a new tag, "Easy Edibles'.  Use the directions below to identify the edibles most likely to thrive in your landscape.

Type "Easy Edibles" in the search box, then click the tag.

Use the options in the left column to refine your search.

Select the options under "Cultural Conditions" that describe the place you intend to plant. For example, under "Light," select "Partial Shade," Under "NC Region" select "Piedmont."

You can further narrow the list by clicking on "Whole Plant Traits."

Select "Cool Season Vegetable," "Warm Season Vegetable," "Herb," "Tree," or whatever type of plant you like.

Select any of the other variables that are important to you, for example, "Resistance to Deer"

Click on "Resistance to Challenges" under the "Landscape" heading. Then click on "Deer"
